I've been resisting and thought I may have finally gotten over the urge OR lust for... the Leica S2... (I know what you probably was thinking) (Sorry boys, she's spoken for).  One of the closing shots from my morning with Ashley at the Leica S2 demo was to finally take some model shots using that camera.  Thanks to the devils (they know who they are).... I'm back on the lust rut.

It's that time of year where the weather outside isn't as nice and thoughts about photographing models have once again tempted this Street Photographer to do some indoor shooting.

The model pictured here is Ashley Brooke Mitchell (http://www.modelmayhem.com/ashleymitchell), a professional print and video model who gave me a few hours of her time today to kick start my model shooting craze once again.  THANK YOU to Ashley for a great session!

Swensen's...

In 1948, Earle Swensen started this ice cream store in San Francisco.
Noted as close to homemade in ingredients and flavor, this store still exists.  In fact, this store can now be found all over the world.  The Swensen family sold off the name to a franchising company a few years back but held on to store number 1.  Do yourself a favor, go to Union and Hyde Streets (the cable car will stop there for you ) and grab a scoop.

Side bar note.... when I was little, this was the place to go on Halloween - they gave away free ice cream to us.  When I was older.... I tried to get a part time job there.

It Started Again with this...

On this blog (http://stevefoonphotography.blogspot.com), a milestone of sorts has been reached.  Posting number 500.  After many years, I decided it was time to pursue something I started as a young child.  Photography.  With a brand spanking new Nikon (now in the hands of a very good high school sports photographer), behold image number 1 - just a plain old snapshot.  My thanks to all my readers.  I hope you have enjoyed the work and hope you will continue to follow.

Shooting from the hip...

One technique among street photographers is to shoot from the hip.  I realized later that this young lady had her camera powered on (lens cover retracted).  Perhaps she was getting a shot of me (too bad that her camera is now damaged beyond repair).
